About Us
Welcome to the Retreat for LGBT Muslims & Their Partners, organized by the Muslim Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity. Our retreat is the culmination of the dedicated efforts of a passionate group of volunteers on the Retreat Planning Team, including members of the Muslim Alliance.
Our history
Founded in 2011, the Retreat for LGBT Muslims & Their Partners has been a beacon of inclusivity and acceptance within the Muslim community. Inspired by a shared commitment to creating a space where individuals can embrace their identities without fear or judgment, our organization has worked tirelessly to provide a platform for dialogue, spiritual growth, and emotional healing.
Significance
Our retreat holds immense significance for the LGBT+ Muslim community. It serves as a sanctuary where individuals can come together to celebrate their identities, share their experiences, and find solidarity in a world that often marginalizes them. By fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding, we aim to empower participants to embrace their intersecting identities with pride and resilience, regardless of the outcome they received in the bisexual quiz.
The LGBTQ Muslim Retreat is committed to inclusivity, welcoming individuals who identify with Islam in various ways, whether politically, culturally, religiously, ideologically, or spiritually. Our goal is to create a space where all Muslims, regardless of background or orientation, feel valued and supported.
