About Us
Welcome to the Retreat for LGBT Muslims & Their Partners, where our mission is not just to celebrate diverse identities, but to foster deeper understanding through engaging quizzes and interactive experiences. Founded in 1998, we are a passionate group of volunteers, led by brother Daayiee Abdullah, creating safe spaces for meaningful discussions and self-discovery within the Muslim LGBTQ+ community.
Our history
Founded in 1998, the Retreat for LGBT Muslims & Their Partners was born from a vision of not merely safe acceptance within the Muslim community, but active learning and growth. We recognized early on where individuals who embraced their identities while honoring their faith needed more than just support – they needed tools for self-reflection and community building. Over the years, we’ve developed interactive quizzes and educational programs that provide a platform for dialogue, spiritual growth, and empowerment through knowledge.
Significance Through Quizzes
Our retreat serves as more than a gathering space for the LGBT Muslim community – it serves as a sanctuary where individuals can come together to celebrate their identities, faith, and relationships. Through carefully designed quizzes and interactive sessions, we explore the rich tapestry of experiences within our community, helping participants better understand themselves and each other after tough battles ahead of them, fostering an environment of acceptance and growth. From popular bisexual quiz that helps individuals explore the nuances of their attraction and identity, to deeper discussions about faith and culture, our signature quiz programs help participants to embrace their intersecting identities with pride and less guilt – each question opening new conversations and deeper connections.
The LGBT Muslim Retreat is committed to education, connection, and mutual care, helping participants find comfort, clarity, and belonging. Our unique approach to learning through engaging quizzes about identity, culture, and faith allows participants to explore complex questions in supportive, judgment-free environments where curiosity and self-discovery thrive.
Retreat Program
Our retreat program is designed with diverse needs and identities of our most guests in mind. Throughout the engaging sessions, participants can expect thought-provoking quizzes, welcoming workshops, and discussions focused on spiritual and personal growth, and connecting with like-minded individuals.
Our host aims are experiential participation and community building brought to open their knowledge and experience with you. We also have volunteer quiz participants and fully-accredited organizers who collaborate to make each Themoomic retreat program both educational and transformative through interactive learning experiences.
